  • I grew up in Michigan but when I was young we always got the cubs games on WGN. I would rush inside from playing to watch the cubs every time they were on. I’m so happy I got to see all those guys play. A great childhood memory for me.

  • As a hardcore ‘stros fan growing up, games like this were meant to happen AGAINST us!! We always seemed to be on the wrong side of history. And the cheating scandal is just proof of that. Honestly, just tired of that team disappointing me my whole life. I’m done.

  • It’s most definitely the greatest game ever pitched in my opinion. 20k’s, 5th career start, backup catcher all against 100 win Astros. Remarkable is an understatement!

  • Amazing that this is 1998 the year of the Sosa / McGwire homerun onslaught and I don't recall Sammy Sosa appearing in this video. I will have to watch this again to confirm.

  • if you never played youll jever understand. but there are worm holes that the pitcher and the catcher will go down in. and they will slide into another demension where theres only you two out there. and when you get to that point, its linear in nature, line of sight, where your both almost have fuzed together. its hard to explain but you feel like its only you two out there, yet theres people everywhere,

no matter what else is going on around you the gravity cannot distrupt the line of sight.
and you ride it, it happened to me once in a j.v. game..in 86… i struck out like 8 guys,

thats not what i remmember though. i remember the ride between me and the catcher.

the, catcher, was a scrub…and rode the bench…….lloll…..

….but that day we just connected….lloll….till this day i cant explain it.

  • This game may have been the reason his arm was prone to injury for the rest of his career. I mean, he's throwing 98 mph fastballs for 9 innings? 98mph is good for a closer who pitches 1 inning.
